Developer Support

CableLabs hosts ETV Interop Events, typically twice a year, where you may access multiple user agents.

Participation is free. The only requirement is that you contribute something - just like a pot-luck supper.

CableLabs provides development facilities for EBIF App Developers. The idea is that once your app is 98% baked, you will want to have your friends taste it before you serve it to the cable operators. Working alongside with you, CableLabs will present your app to several user agents running across multiple headends. You can observe the results and make modifications to your app along the way to improve performance. That way, when you engage with a specific cable operator, you will have reached the dessert course. Sweet!

In addition to 1:1 support, CableLabs hosts ETV Interop Events, typically twice a year, where you have the opportunity to collaborate with your peers. Participation is free and the only requirement is that you contribute something.

By working with the CableLabs staff, we were able to finalize our EBIF app and put it in front of our MSO customers and demonstrate it on a set top box at The Cable Show 2010 - ZapOnDemand
